Heat Pipes and Heat Loops are heat superconductors. Today no one alternative heat transfer device can be as efficient as a Heat Pipe/Loop.
Closed evaporation-condensation cycle which is realized inside of the two-phase system leads to the extremely small temperature gradients along the Heat Pipe/Loop resulting in devices of a very high, unbeatable thermal conductivity. The effective thermal conductivity of the Heat Pipe/Loop can be more than several thousands (!) times that of a solid copper rod of similar dimensions. Heat fluxes as high as 15 kW/cm2 have been measured (lithium as the working fluid at 1500oC).

However, Heat Loops having a capillary pump (wick with a size of effective capillary pore less than one micron) which is located only in the evaporator can efficiently operate against gravity with the height between the evaporator and the condenser of up to 10 m.
Heat Loops will be at the heart of next-generation thermal management systems. This technology has demonstrated outstanding performance and capability in plenty of space and planetary missions and is now ready for large-scale terrestrial applications. Just as the primitive, heavy, and inefficient solid metal heat sinks in computers were replaced by heat pipe assemblies, heat loops are the next technological step. This is evolution. Allatherm was created by two childhood friends: Donatas Mishkinis, PhD in Thermal Engineering who has dedicated more than 25 years to, and Igors Ušakovs, MSc. in Theoretical Physics, with extensive experience in business process engineering. Donatas had many unrealized ideas, while Igors had always wanted to return to R&D and to build high technology company. This led to the founding of Allatherm.
